The Charleston Beaches








The barrier islands that protect Charleston offer a wide variety of beaches, each with their own flavor and style.  Charleston´s resort barrier islands of Seabrook and Kiawah are located just 22 miles south of Charleston.  These islands are private and Intercoastal Waterway, Charleston SCowned by their residents. Isle of Palms is a barrier island on the South Carolina coast less than 20 minutes from Charleston.  Isle of Palms is home to the famous Wild Dunes Resort, which offers a fitness center, clay tennis courts, and two championship golf courses.  Folly Beach, known for its large waves, is located about 15 miles south of Charleston and is known as Charleston´s beach playground.

 

Beach VolleyballThe Isle of Palms & Sullivan´s Island are side by side barrier islands connected by Breech Inlet.  The Isle of Palms is a wonderful beach with a great beach park for the public with showers, bathrooms and parking. Both beaches are beautiful and ideal for enjoying the summer sun, all just twenty minutes from the Historic District of Charleston! 
Charleston's waterfront communities
