Carnes : A Daniel Island Company Township

"Carnes"

Located between Highway 17A and Highway 176 in Goose Creek, Carnes is on its way to becoming the Lowcountry's new charming Southern town.  Only 20 miles from historic Charleston, Carnes is under the development of the Charleston based company who brought the beautiful community of Daniel Island to the Charleston area.  The "Daniel Island Company" is in the process of turning a 2400 acre former timber tract into a beautiful mixed use community with sidewalks, trails, parks, homes, townhomes, condos and a commercial area with shops, restaurants, grocery stores, offices & medical facilities.
Carnes

Carnes will eventually be home to 15,000 people with a range of neighborhoods with single family homes, townhomes and condos-all scheduled to be available in early 2009.  Similar to Daniel Island, Carnes will be a "smart growth community" that combines residential and commercial into an area that attracts others to gather there.  The Daniel Island Company has won multiple awards for their work on Daniel Island including the 2007 Award of Excellence from Urban Land institute and the 2004 Best Suburban Smart Growth Community from the National Association of Homebuilders.  Carnes will be developed with the same level of excellence and will bring a wonderful community to the Goose Creek area of Berkeley County.
